The firm represents clients in all areas of immigration and citizenship. Clients include United States citizens and non-citizens, and also employers, schools and religious institutions seeking guidance on temporary and permanent visas.

Immigration matters run on deadlines and on paperwork where a small error can cost months, and they often arrive attached to something else entirely, such as a marriage, a job offer, or a criminal charge. Staff members at the firm speak Russian, Spanish, Haitian Creole, Italian and French, so clients can explain their situation in the language they think in and can read what they are signing.

Matters handled in this group:

• Employment-based visas. The firm works with employers seeking temporary or permanent visas for existing overseas employees, and with employers recruiting from within the United States or abroad.
• Family-sponsored visas. Green cards and temporary visas for family members, including fiances, spouses, children, parents, siblings and other relatives.
• Asylum and refugee status. Non-citizens facing persecution in their home countries may be able to seek asylum or refugee status in the United States.
• Naturalization and citizenship, including applications and the questions that come up when there is a complicated history.
• Deportation and removal defense, and appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals and the United States Court of Appeals.
