Hit-and-Run Crash Closes Part of Mountain Ave in Springfield, NJ

Springfield, NJ (September 18, 2026) – A hit-and-run crash was reported Wednesday afternoon, September 16, on Mountain Avenue in front of M&M Auto in Springfield.

Elizabeth Police officers responded to the scene after a call came in around 12:19 p.m. Emergency crews at the scene assisted those involved. The full extent of the injuries has not been disclosed.  

Authorities requested tow trucks to remove an SUV and a sedan that were both damaged. 

The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under review.
