Roselle, NJ (October 2, 2026) – Three people were injured in a two-car collision near Sheridan Avenue and East Third Avenue on Friday, October 2.
Union County Fire and emergency units were sent to the intersection around 8:14 a.m. after the first call came in.
Officials have not specified how the vehicles came together or the full extent of the injuries of the three people injured.
Authorities continue to investigate how the accident unfolded.
We wish the three people injured a strong recovery.
Most New Jersey personal injury lawsuits must be filed within two years of the date of the injury. If a claim is filed after that deadline, courts can dismiss the claim, even when the facts are strong.
If people wait too long, they can create problems well before the deadline arrives. Vehicles get repaired, camera footage may be overwritten, and witnesses' memories fade. Medical records also take time to collect, and a claim built on a full set of records tends to be easier to evaluate.
Some claims follow different clocks. Under the discovery rule, the two years may start later if a person did not know, and could not reasonably have known, that an injury was connected to someone else's conduct.
For a minor, the period is generally paused until age 18. Additionally, if a claim is meant to be against a public entity, it requires written notice within 90 days under the Tort Claims Act.
Deadlines are easier to track when someone looks at them early, and our team at the Law Offices of Sander Budanitsky can help you identify which one may apply to your specific situation. We can go over the date of injury, any notice requirements, and the documents that may be worth gathering.
