Cranford, NJ (June 18, 2026) – A 74-year-old woman was seriously hurt on Thursday night, June 18, while she crossed the street in Cranford.

The Cranford resident was walking in a crosswalk at the corner of Walnut Avenue and Raritan Road around 9 p.m. when a sedan struck her, according to Cranford Police.

Emergency units responded to the scene, and the woman was taken to University Hospital in Newark with serious injuries. The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police. What led up to the crash remains under review.
