Two Hurt After Car Strikes House on West 19th St
July 24, 2026

Linden, NJ (July 24, 2026) – Two people suffered neck and facial injuries on Friday afternoon, July 24, after a two-vehicle crash sent one car into a house near West 19th Street and Wyandotte Avenue.

The Linden Police and emergency units arrived and treated the injured occupants at the scene. Both vehicles sustained heavy front-end damage, and airbags deployed in the collision.

A tow was requested to remove the vehicles from the property. Further details about the crash have not been released.

Authorities continue to actively investigate the wreck.

We hope both injured people recover fully.

How Long Do You Have to File a Claim After a Crash in Linden, NJ?

New Jersey law generally gives someone injured in a crash two years from the date of the collision to file a personal injury lawsuit. This deadline applies whether the claim involves injuries from the crash itself or a related property damage claim, and missing it typically means losing the right to pursue compensation altogether, regardless of how strong the underlying case might be.

Two years can feel like plenty of time, especially early on when someone is focused on recovering from neck or facial injuries rather than legal deadlines. But evidence tends to fade well before that deadline arrives. Witnesses become harder to locate, vehicle damage gets repaired, or the vehicles get sold, and specific memories of how a crash occurred grow less reliable the longer a case sits untouched.

There are some situations that can extend or adjust this filing window under New Jersey law, such as claims involving a minor or certain claims against a government entity, which carry a much shorter notice requirement. A personal injury lawyer can help determine whether any of these exceptions apply to a specific situation, since assuming the standard two-year window applies when it doesn't can result in a claim being filed too late.

Understanding exactly when the clock started and what it covers matters more than most people realize until it is too late to do anything about it. Our team at The Law Offices of Sander Budanitsky helps clients understand how New Jersey's filing deadlines apply to their specific situation.
