North Bergen, NJ (August 14, 2026) – A crash with injuries was reported Thursday evening, August 13, on Tonnelle Avenue in North Bergen during the evening commute.
The crash occurred around 6:28 p.m. on southbound Routes 1&9/Tonnelle Avenue north of Secaucus Road, according to a New Jersey Department of Transportation traffic alert. One of the two southbound lanes was closed afterward, and significant backups developed along the roadway.
Police were at the site as of 6:43 p.m. Authorities have not said how many people were hurt or the severity of their injuries.
