Union, NJ (October 15, 2026) – At least one person was injured in a three-vehicle wreck on the Route 22 westbound ramp to the Garden State Parkway southbound in Union on Thursday, October 15. The collision was reported at approximately 6:47 a.m.
Emergency crews arrived at the connecting ramp to assist those involved. One person had a back injury but declined medical treatment.
Authorities are working to determine what led to the collision.
Our hearts are with the injured person as he recovers.
Seeing a doctor promptly after a car accident can help identify injuries that may not be noticeable immediately. A doctor can assess your symptoms, recommend appropriate treatment, and determine whether additional tests are necessary to understand your injuries.
After receiving medical care, keep copies of your bills, treatment instructions, and appointment records. These documents can show the care you received, track your recovery, and help establish expenses related to the crash as your insurance claim progresses.
While you are receiving treatment, applicable personal injury protection (PIP) insurance may help cover eligible medical expenses regardless of fault. Your policy limits, deductibles, and coverage selections can affect which expenses are covered and how much you must pay.
If your injuries keep you from working, certain PIP benefits may also cover some lost income. Pay stubs, employment records, and medical documentation can help establish how much work and income you missed throughout your recovery and treatment.
Even if you share responsibility for the crash, New Jersey law may allow you to recover damages. However, your compensation is reduced by your percentage of fault, and recovery is generally barred if you are more than 50% responsible.
Under New Jersey law, you generally have two years from the crash date to file a personal injury lawsuit. Certain exceptions may apply, but missing the applicable deadline could prevent you from pursuing compensation in court.
If your injuries require ongoing treatment, a car accident lawyer can help organize medical records and evaluate how the crash has affected your life. An attorney can also review settlement offers carefully and negotiate with insurance companies.
