Summit, NJ – Man Killed by EB NJ Transit Train on Morris & Essex Line

Summit, NJ (December 2, 2025) – A man was killed on Tuesday morning, December 2, around 8:13 a.m., after being struck by an eastbound NJ Transit train on the Morris & Essex Line.

NJ Transit reported that the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene and has not yet been publicly identified. The train involved, Train 6620, which departed Dover at 7:33 a.m., was carrying approximately 500 passengers and was scheduled to reach New York Penn Station at 8:55 a.m. Following the incident, service on the Morris & Essex Line was suspended in both directions, while the Gladstone Branch experienced a brief shutdown before resuming operations.
