Elizabeth, NJ (May 25, 2026) – A 64-year-old woman died late Saturday night, May 23, after she was struck by an SUV on Newark Avenue at approximately 11:30 p.m. 

The woman, identified as Donna Bass of Elizabeth, was taken to a nearby hospital, where she later died from her injuries. 

Police said the driver remained at the scene following the incident. No charges had been filed at the time of the report, and additional details about what led to the fatal strike were not released.
