20-Year-Old Woman Killed in Garden State Pkwy Crash in Lacey Twp, NJ

Lacey Township, NJ (August 8, 2026) – A 20-year-old New York City woman was killed, and several others were injured following a multi-vehicle collision on the Garden State Parkway in Lacey Township on Friday afternoon, August 7.

According to New Jersey State Police, the collision occurred in the northbound lanes shortly before 3 p.m. A 26-year-old New York City man was driving a Toyota sedan with four passengers when the vehicle veered off the roadway, struck a guiderail, re-entered the highway, and collided with a northbound Hyundai sedan.

Two rear-seat passengers in the Toyota, identified as Iisiz Lopez, 20, of New York City, and an infant, were ejected. Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, infant, and other Toyota passengers suffered non-fatal injuries and were taken to an area hospital. The Hyundai driver also sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
