What Are a Driver’s Responsibilities at Crosswalks in Cranford, NJ?
Drivers in New Jersey are required to stop for pedestrians who are crossing within a marked crosswalk, particularly at busy intersections like Walnut Avenue, where visibility can be limited after dark.
Pedestrians struck by a vehicle, especially older adults, often face serious injuries such as fractures, head trauma, or internal injuries that can take significant time to heal. Recovery for older pedestrians can be more complicated, sometimes involving extended hospital stays, surgery, or long-term rehabilitation.
A personal injury lawyer can help an injured pedestrian or their family gather evidence, such as the police report, witness statements, and any available surveillance footage, to help establish what happened. Legal guidance can help clarify what options may be available to support medical treatment and recovery costs.
